Kickstart your plastic free kitchen by making reusable beeswax food wraps!

These will quickly become your zero waste, food safe lunchbox and kitchen essentials and can replace plastic zip bags, tin foil and cling wrap.

In this workshop, we will:
- be introduced to zero waste principles
- discuss plastic's effect on human and environmental health
- create your own set of 4 beeswax wraps

The following supplies are included:
- 6 options of 100% organic cotton fabric with
- humanely sourced beeswax
- coconut oil
- parchment paper
- scissors
- heat source
- accessories like wooden buttons and hemp cord

Please bring:
- your enthusiasm and questions
- a handkerchief to wipe your hands on
- a notebook and pen for notes

You may, but are not expected to bring:
- your own fabric
- buttons
- special scissors for patterned edges

You will go home with:
- 4 beeswax food wraps of various sizes - small: 6x7in, medium: 6x8in (x2), large: 12x12in
- inspiration to move forward on your zero waste journey

Beeswax food wraps can be used for at least a year when cared for properly. They are food safe, and washable with cold water. They are great for protecting food in place of single use plastic, thus saving resources as well as money. Beeswax food wraps are a beautiful tool for those interested in sustainability as well as saving money.

About the Artist:
CORI ANA STRELL
Cori Ana facilitates sustainability workshops built around LNT; Leave No Trace. This method emphasizes leaving the environments you interact with better than you found them. LNT encourages the individual to find personal empowerment and great practical use in their own creations. Thus, cutting ties with capitalist ideals. Her workshops focus on zero waste practices that equip students with the tools to replace single use plastics with sustainable alternatives and theory. Reducing plastic is an ongoing challenge that involves compromise, creative thinking, and collaboration. Cori Ana spends her days biking around Santa Cruz between her part time job at a sustainability non profit, singing with a band, and supporting efforts in the environmental activism movement.
