Commute Tools for Downtown businesses!

If you work downtown and want more tools to rethink your commute, here’s great news! On October 1, the expanded GO Santa Cruz program is launching with all sorts of incentives to help downtown employees choose options other than driving to get to work. These include:

  • FREE bus passes 

  • FREE bike locker cards preloaded with $20 

  • discounted JUMP bike rides

  • carpool incentives

  • commute information and carpool ride matching 

  • bike safety trainings 

To get started, you must sign up with the online platform, Cruz511, which offers trip logging, carpool matching, transit options, and bike and walk routing. Here’s how: 

  • SIGN-UP at https://my.cruz511.org/s/gosantacruz

  • Click "Register to Join"

  • There will be a pop-up that asks about your normal commute. You can fill it out for carpool matching, or choose "Not Now."

  • At the top of the page, there will be a drop-down menu option labeled "Programs." Go here.

  • Choose "Rewards" and select all those that you'd like to use.

  • Instructions for getting them will then pop up!

BONUS: the GO Santa Cruz program rewards you for taking alternative transportation! If you bike, walk, carpool, or bus, the GO Santa Cruz program is giving away great prizes just for rethinking your commute and logging your trips! There will also be special challenges to encourage you to try something new. Extra fun part for Downtown businesses: many of the prizes will be Downtown Dollars, encouraging even more people to come visit the awesome businesses we have downtown.
