The second annual BBQueer Fest will take place the last weekend of September/first weekend of October. BBQueer Fest is a direct response to the County of Santa Cruz’s declaration that racism is a public health crisis. BBQueer Fest celebrates the transformative art-making power and embodied activism of Queer, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and is a collaboration between two dance, art, and community-centered organizations in Santa Cruz: Motion Pacific Dance and Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center. BBQueer Fest 2022 will feature public performances and workshops for BIPOC attendees, as well as workshops open to the public. Most events are free of charge; donation is encouraged. Space is limited, early RSVPs encouraged.
