The idea of this river clean up and “Bridging the Gap” is to bring our community together to help clean up and beautify the incredible river that is quite literally in our backyard. This is a place to enjoy, feel safe and welcome. One person literally can make a difference. Yoso Wellness Spa, Hotel Paradox, Coastal Watershed Council and Save Our Shores believe that we can all be a bunch of those ‘one person’ all coming together at one time creating an even bigger difference and impact for the environment and our local community while connecting and enjoying each others' company.
After this season’s rains, litter has been washed down to the lower San Lorenzo River and beaches. We need your help to cleanse and clear what is the HUB of our water coming from the river to the ocean and beaches. What an honor to love our river in the month of Valentine's Day.
Volunteers should meet at Yoso Wellness Spa at 740 Front St. at 3:30 p.m. for the event kick-off. From there we'll divide into smaller groups that can choose between 1) habitat restoration activities like weeding, watering and planting and 2) trash and litter clean up. All volunteers will then re-group at 5:30 p.m. at Hotel Paradox for a volunteer appreciation happy hour.
