San Lorenzo River – Join Yoso Wellness Spa and Hotel Paradox in our second bi-annual River Beautification on Oct. 25, 2019; for our Fall edition of Bridging the Gap we will be focusing on habitat restoration with additional support in cleaning up trash from the river.
We are honored to be supported again and work alongside Coastal Watershed and Save our Shores as we come together to beautify the river that runs through Santa Cruz, but also to support and create community, bringing new and old friends together.
Where: We will have everyone meet and begin at Yoso Wellness Spa and encourage arrival by 2:45 if possible to sign and release paperwork for the river clean up and restoration. At 3:00 we will walk to the specific area designated for the habitat restoration and clean up between Yoso and Hotel Paradox.
When: The restoration and clean up will go from 3:00-5:00 followed by everyone joining over at Hotel Paradox from 5:00pm-7:00pm for complimentary appetizers in the fireside lounge out by the pool and a special raffle drawing for participants in the River Beautification.
Details: If you have gardening gloves you prefer to use, please feel free to bring them with you. We would also like to encourage a sun hat to protect your skin as well as SPF and must wear closed toe shoes to protect your feet.
If you have kiddo’s we would LOVE to see them out there with us planting fresh plants along the river. We decided to shift the start time for “Bridging the Gap” to 3:00 after having so many parents say they would love to bring their kids to participate, so we definitely hope to see you all out there!
Curious how our first event went? We had over 70 volunteers come out and collected over 500lbs of trash. It was a huge success and we can not wait to show the San Lorenzo that love again as we nurture it, just as it does our community.
