Details
Learn the basic skills and materials involved in completing beautiful glass mosaic projects from start to finish in this 4 session class. We will learn glass cutting and tile breaking; grouting, glueing, grinding and thin-setting, selecting glass and substrates, hanging, and how to clean our mosaics.You will also train your artistic eye and learn the different approaches of glass impressionism, realism and abstraction. Over the four weeks, you will complete two custom projects! All skill levels are welcome.
A $30 materials fee is due to the teacher on the first day of class.
In this workshop, we will:
- learn how to safely cut glass and break tiles
- cement, grout and/or glue mosaic pieces to a base
- develop our 'artistic eye'
- make two custom glass mosaics
The following supplies are included:
- several colors of glass
- all necessary tools for cutting and adhesion
You can bring:
- close toed shoes
You will go home with:
- your own handmade glass mosaics
- the knowledge to keep creating with glass
