Saxophonist Kristen Strom has been a mainstay on the Bay Area music scene for nearly two decades. In addition to her solo albums Intention and Sojourn, and her two albums with the US/Canada jazz collaboration Crossing Borders, she has recorded on more than 40 albums with various jazz and pop artists and has toured across the globe. Strom’s new album, Moving Day: The Music of John Shifflett pays tribute to Shifflett, a bassist/arranger/composer/educator known across the Bay Area and who taught countless students at San Jose State University.
