Have you ever imagined making your own footwear? Now you can! In this class, students will learn how to construct a personalized pair of leather sandals that fits perfectly. Design templates will be provided, but your creativity is always welcome!

In this workshop, we will:

  • design sandal on paper
  • transfer design to leather
  • cut leather
  • assemble sandal uppers
  • attach crepe soles

The following supplies are included:

  • leather
  • crepe soling
  • contact cement

You can bring:

  • a packed lunch - the class runs 5 hours

You will go home with:

  • a unique, handcrafted pair of leather sandals!

About the artist: TERRY MCINERNEY
My name is Terry McInerney and I am the the artist/ owner of Nuala, a local leather accessory business. I have been designing and selling leather goods for 10 years in Santa Cruz. Working with my hands brings me a sense of accomplishment that I want reflected in my leather work. I love to share the unique craft of leatherwork with others.
