Been wanting to try AcroYoga but haven't made it to a class? The Santa Cruz AcroYoga community wants to share this special practice with you in an open, welcoming environment. We'll discuss safety & communication then connect with a group warm up. After a brief demo of fundamental acro poses, you'll have the opportunity to fly, base, and spot each other. You can try as much or as little as you like. The play shop follows with a loosely structured gathering of experienced bases and flyers that are ready to get you in the air and fly on your feet. Let all the people fly!
Instructor / Facilitator Bios:
Caitlin Binder moved to Santa Cruz from the east coast to pursue her chemistry degree and found life balance through movement. She transitioned from being a competitive swimmer into technical practices of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, yoga, and partner acrobatics. Through acro, Caitlin found a fun and loving community that she’s been cultivating for over five years. Caitlin Binder has her certification from Lux SeattleAcro and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC Santa Cruz. A university lecturer since 2010, she applies similar philosophies in teaching acro and organic chemistry classes. She understands the significance of safety in the classroom, whether balancing people on each other or working in a laboratory. Caitlin loves sharing acro with students of all levels. Come play!
