Poetry Out Loud, presented in partnership with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, the Arts Council Santa Cruz County, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Poetry Foundation, is a national program that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry— both classic and contemporary—through memorization, performance, and competition. Since the program began in 2005, more than 3.8 million students and 60,000 teachers from 16,000 schools across the country have participated in Poetry Out Loud.

Attendance is free and open to the public, although seating is limited. For further information, call Audrey Sirota, 831-466-5827 or asirota@santacruzcoe.org
