Details
Go beyond the traditional jack-o'-lantern and learn to carve your pumpkins into Halloween works of art. This a family style workshop, meaning an adult and child pair can come together on one ticket!
In this workshop, we will:
-learn how to choose and prepare the perfect pumpkin
-learn tips, tricks, and tools to carve amazing pumpkins
-design and carve your own Halloween work of art
The following supplies are included:
-pre-prepared pumpkins
-all saws, scoops, and carving tools will be provided for in-class use
-pumpkin patterns you can use will be provided, or you can design your own
You can bring:
-clothes you don't mind getting messy
-your idea for an image to carve onto your pumpkin, or use one of the provided patterns
You will go home with:
-your own carved pumpkin masterpiece

We will be using small pumpkin saws, so the class is recommended for ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
About the artist: LEIGH HENDERSON
Leigh Henderson is a food artist and a theater artist. As a pumpkin carver, she has won numerous awards in the Pumpkin Masters carving contest, including the Grand Prize in 2008. As a cake artist, she has appeared on the Food Network on Sugar Dome and on two seasons of Halloween Wars. Her cakes have also been featured in numerous print and digital media outlets, including Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and Make Magazine. Her food-based art has also appeared at the prestigious international Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space.
