What is the experience of reporting the Middle East? Veteran journalists and international correspondents Hannah Allam and Leila Fadel discuss their careers in journalism in the Middle East and their current work at NPR on culture, diversity, race, and extremism in the United States. They will be in conversation with Jennifer Derr, Associate Professor of History and Founding Director of the Center for the MIddle East and North Africa at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
