Jazz superstar and trumpeter Randy Brecker, saxophonist Tod Dickow, and acclaimed Bay-Area ensemble Charged Particles will be performing and celebrating the music of one of the most important voices in the history of jazz: saxophonist Michael Brecker.
Perhaps because Michael Brecker’s playing is so technically demanding, and his compositions such a challenge to perform, his repertoire has rarely been performed since his passing. This performance by Dickow and Charged Particles will be remarkable, as it will be the first international performance by the quartet celebrating Michael Brecker as a composer/saxophonist/bandleader, with a very special guest: Michael’s brother, legendary trumpeter Randy Brecker.
