The reviews are in--All new sci-fi horror musical, StarTwerk, wows director’s mom

At The 418 Project this weekend October 27th, 28th Santa Cruz, CA

Lovers of musicals, sci-fi, and horror - Beware!! Star Twerk, Terror from
Sector 69! the original musical featuring twerking aliens, an evil villain, and the end of the
world as we know it is now in its closing weekend October 27th and 28th in downtown Santa
Cruz at the 418 Project at the Dragonsgate, 155 S. River Street.

Theater goers can expect a wacky, fast paced evening featuring space blasters, original music,
film and dance, with performers going boldly where no human has gone before.... into the
deepest reaches of outer space: on Planet XXX, Captain Dash Cunning and her stalwart crew
encounter a terrifying yet alluring alien force with the power to control minds and asses...but the
real threat may be closer than anyone realizes. Star Twerk is a terrifying tale of hubris,
friendship, and ill-conceived marketing decisions at the very edge of the known universe!
The 418 Project purchased the former DNA Comedy Lab and UA/Regal Riverfront Twin in
2021, and is converting the old theater into a vibrant new center for the performing arts, creating
a fully coordinated, multi-disciplinary arts center.

The 418 Project Creative Team, which brought you Bikini Werewolf Massacre! this time last
year, produces 10+ original theater, dance and film works annually, and are the originators of the
high spirited variety show What is Erotic?, which has graced the Santa Cruz stage around
Valentines Day since 2005.

Look for film and special effects from Travis Deyoung, winner of the 2022 London Nelsen
Halloween Horror Film Competition, original score by Keeva Iverson, script by writer/director
Aaron Stoetzel, (Bloodlust of the Vampire Queen!). Audience not only has the chance to sit in
the “Splatter Zone” on stage, but also to choose the ending of the show each night.

Executive Director Laura Bishop says, “The 418 Project invites people of all backgrounds,
genders, ages, body types and ethnicities to come together and create a more inclusive world, but
when’s the last time you got the chance to decide the fate of humanity? This is empowerment
and inclusivity at a whole new level.”
