In one of the Cabrillo Festival's most groundbreaking concerts to date, Gabriella Smith's "Lost Coast" explores the beauty and loss of California's coastline, featuring the dynamic Gabriel Cabezas on cello. In a recent addition to this concert, Wynton Marsalis' West Coast Premiere of his new Trumpet Concerto takes listeners on a journey through emotions with accomplished soloist Michael Sachs leading the way. And the Festival unveils The Creative Lab, empowering composers to reshape and rethink the orchestral experience. This year, Bora Yoon's world premiere "PARHELION" uses spatial design and multimedia for an immersive experience that explores motions and emotions of weather systems and cycles of perspective.
